The short answer
Start with the information you would need after an email incident: activity records, message content, aggregate statistics or events sent to another system. The retained documentation describes different capabilities across Resend, Postmark and Amazon SES. It does not establish a like-for-like history service or a complete cost comparison. Choose which kind of information matters before comparing the documented limits.

Resend offers 30-day data retention for both Free and Pro plans. Pro provides 5 webhook endpoints; that allowance does not establish that webhook access is exclusive to Pro. These selected facts do not separately define every type of retained data, event-payload storage, retry guarantees or export limits. Confirm those details for the workflow you need.

Postmark keeps aggregate statistics indefinitely. Custom storage of activity data and message content starts at USD 5 per month and is available on Pro plans or higher. That qualification applies to custom retention, not to the separate statement about indefinite statistics. Postmark also converts inbound email into JSON and posts it to a webhook URL; this does not establish outgoing delivery-event coverage.

Amazon SES provides event publishing for sending events such as sends, deliveries, opens, clicks, bounces and complaints through configuration sets to CloudWatch, Data Firehose, Pinpoint, SNS or EventBridge. Separately, the selected pricing passage concerns Mail Manager archiving: USD 2 per GB of emails ingested and USD 0.19 per GB per month for storage and search. Those are charges for a named archive component, not an included dashboard history allowance, an archive duration or the total AWS bill. Destination configuration, retention and operating costs still need their own assessment.

For your shortlist, write down the required data type, how old an incident you need to investigate, and where your team expects to retrieve the information. Then check the documented product option and leave unanswered questions visible. For this evidence set, detailed Resend retention categories, outgoing Postmark event and retry scope, and SES archive duration and complete operating cost remain unresolved. None of those gaps should become an assumed feature or a zero-cost line in a recommendation.
