What Omnisend does

Omnisend is marketing automation for ecommerce stores. It sends email, SMS and web push messages and includes pre-built workflows for cart abandonment, welcome series, post-purchase and re-engagement.

How the plans are counted

Omnisend bills by contacts, and that count includes people who are not subscribers but received an automated message. Unsubscribed contacts are not billed. Email allowances follow the plan: Free sends up to 500 emails a month, Standard 12 times the list size, and Pro is unlimited under a fair-use limit of 60 times the list.

At the 500-contact tier, Standard therefore allows 6,000 emails a month (500 × 12). Pro is shown at 2,500 contacts, where the fair-use ceiling would be 150,000 emails a month (2,500 × 60).

What you pay

With the list-size selector at its default of 251–500 contacts, Standard costs USD 16 a month and Pro USD 59 a month for 2,500 contacts. Paying three months upfront takes 30% off the first three months: USD 33.60 instead of USD 48.00 for Standard, and USD 123.90 instead of USD 177.00 for Pro. After that, billing is monthly.

Free costs nothing for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. SMS on Pro is charged separately, from USD 0.007 a message. Taxes are not stated.

Limits that change the choice

Free emails and forms carry a "Powered by Omnisend" badge; on Standard and Pro it is optional. If you exceed the email limit on Free or Standard, Omnisend offers an upgrade that you must confirm before it happens.

What the documentation leaves open

Prices for other list sizes need the slider, and the page does not say whether 2,500 contacts is the smallest Pro tier. User seats are not mentioned, and the page shows only monthly and three-months-upfront billing.

When to compare alternatives

Klaviyo is the closest comparison for a store: its Email plan costs USD 20 a month for 500 active profiles and 5,000 emails, against USD 16 and 6,000 emails on Omnisend Standard. If you send newsletters without store data, Kit lists no sending limits and a Free plan for up to 10,000 subscribers.

Before you buy

Count everyone who will receive automated messages, not just newsletter subscribers, because they are billable. Multiply that number by the emails each contact gets in a month and check it against 12 times your list on Standard. The Free plan is enough to connect the store and test one flow before paying.
